Spencer Reed
Pianist and Music Educator
Spencer Reed is a pianist and piano teacher in Youngstown Ohio. He grew up playing and improvising on the piano. He learned not only traditional classical music of Bach, Beethoven, and Chopin; but also how to improvise jazz music, play the organ, and write music. The interest he had in music culminated with a B.M. and M.M. from Youngstown State University.
Currently, Spencer is a member of Youngstown Music Teachers’ Association and the National Federation of Music Clubs both of which bring multiple performance opportunities and incentives for students.
In addition, to his independent piano studio, Spencer performs considerably. He has performed with the Youngstown State University Symphony, Youngstown Symphony, Warren Philharmonic, Redline Entertainment, and Ovation Band to name a few.
Spencer has also been an active church musician for 9 years, currently serving as the Church Organist at Mount Olivet UCC in North Lima.
In continuing his education, Spencer is a member of multiple online piano forums and creates resources for his students. His YouTube channel, SpencerReedMusic, has video resources for parents and students alike.
